History
After eight years on a car allowance, I finally found myself moving back in to car ownership. I had always been a fan of BMWs and had previously looked at the F10 5 series when I had nearly changed jobs in 2010. This time around I went in to a BMW dealership to look at the 520D, but was convinced to also look at the 320D.
I had previously discounted the 3 Series due to my experience test driving the E46 which I found to be way too small for my 6'2" frame. The dealer though got me to sit in the F30 and I found it fitted me well. I was left with the option of a stock-as-a-rock 5 series, or taking the same money and buying a nicely optioned 3 series. I went for the latter.
I got the car on the first day of November, 2012 and it is now my daily driver. I'm very impressed with the economy of the car (getting about 1,000kms to a tank) and the ride has all the luxury I was looking for. I'm particularly partial to the heads up display.

The car obviously has no modifications yet, but I have ordered it fitted with the following options:
- Luxury line
- Steering wheel gearshift paddles
- Rear view camera
- Sunroof
- Lane departure warning
- Professional navigation system
- Full colour HUD
- Internet functionality
- Extended bluetooth control with music streaming and voice control
