History
This was my second car, though it was really the first one that started me on the path to becoming the enthusiast I am today.
A friend of mine had purchased the vehicle in Melbourne and moved with it to Sydney before letting the registration expire and allowing the car to collect dust (and water in the boot) in his back yard. I purchased the car for $4,500 and started work on getting it up to scratch again so that it could be registered in NSW.
I drained the flooded boot and scraped out the rust that had formed in the spare wheel well and used silicon to resolve the leaks that had allowed it to get that way. In order to pass a blue-slip, the car needed a few things, most notably replacement seat belts as the front belts had been pulled out to their limit and the replacement tag was showing.
Once I had the car up and running again, it was barely recognisable from the virtual wreck it had been when I first purchased it, though it wasn't without its mechanical issues. I ended up sinking the purchase price again in to the car during the time I had it.
With that being said, I joined the EA Falcon owners club (later the E Series Club) and went on a number of drive days, pitting my S-Pack against the various GLs, Fairmonts and Fairlanes that were out there. I became an active contributor on the E-Series community and learned a lot about working on cars while I had this vehicle.
Eventually it got to the point that I was going to have to sink another $2,000 in to the car in order to keep it running so at that point I traded it.
Modifications
Other than the standard S-Pack add-ons (such as the snowflake wheels) the car was fitted with a dual fuel (petrol & LPG) system that gave it a bit of extra economy, though it ran like a dog on gas.
