History
An LC Torana was my first car when I got my "P" plates in 1979... I went to Sydney so that my uncle, who was an engineer, could help me to choose my first car (as back then, I had no idea about cars)... We kept looking through the paper Trading Post so that we could then go and look at various second hand cars for sale... After a few days of looking at different cars for sale, I chose a brown 1971 LC Torana 2 door coupe for sale for $1200 in Randwick... It was registered and in pretty good condition and I was able to drive it home to Port Macquarie without any mechanical problems... It was all standard original 138 cubic inches grey motor (2250 badge on the front guards), standard wheels with metal Holden hubcaps... A couple years later in approximately 1981 I sold it for $300 to one of my older brothers... I then bought my second car (coincidently for $1200 also) that was a canary yellow colored 1963 Volkswagen splitwindow kombi campervan...
