Childhood dream realised - nostalgia warning!

When I was little, in the early 1970s, I had a favourite Corgi toy car - an E-Type, which you could open and close all the doors. From memory, I think mine was blue - but the photo above is pretty close to what it looked like. 40 years later - I'm in those mid life crisis years (which I have cleverly switched to my mid life opportunity years). A real (not toy) E type came on the local market - a 1968 series 1.5 (1 year older than me!). I'd been daydreaming about owning one of these cars for years so I went and checked it out. Owned by the same family since 1982, fantastic all original condition (damn - why couldn't it have been terrible and tired). No it was brilliant...and, after a trip to the Bank and a nervous registration inspection (which it passed with flying colours), the toy of my childhood is now really mine. Still can't quite believe it.
