History
Built at the Elizabeth Facility in May1970 during the Restricted Volume Production of the HG Model Range.
I believe it is the Van in the HG Panel Van Sales Brochure but requires a Full Restoration.
It is fitted with a 186 and trimatic however, it should be 161H with a 3 speed manual transmission. It left the factory with drum brakes all round but is now fitted with Front Disc Brakes and small diameter booster.
Exterior Colour is Sudan Beige and Interior should be Antique Gold.
This Van was selected in a wrecking yard in Warrigal Road at Sandown from a line of vehicles being crushed that day. The previous owner picked this one as it had no windows and the least amount of damage and rust having no idea of it's significance!
I traced the original registration and engine number through AOMC in Victoria as they have all the rego cards and engine cards up to 1984 from Vic Roads. It was first registered in September 1970 with KST093 and the Engine Number was 161H322145. The Engine was removed in May 1980 and in July 1980 was fitted to a HR Panel Van with Rego Number JTR325.
If anyone has pics of this Van showing KST093 number plates please let me know.
