we bought two 404s. One had been sitting outside in a paddock and the body was not in great shape but the engine and workings were good. The other had been living nearby in a shed and although the guts were crook, the body was in good nick! so we did a bit of a switcheroo of various parts and ended up with a fine first vehicle for a young fella in Ballarat in the late 80s! the whole project cost $600.
I drove it for around 4 years (from age 19 - 22) so, as you can imagine, a lot of good times were had an that car. I loved it. I sometimes wonder if she's still around somewhere, I would love to see her again!
