History
My career was now on the way and I moved into Sales, mainly because it came with the famous "car-allowance" allowing me to move up a notch in my ride. My first European experience was an entirely pleasant one. It was a toss-up between the Fiat and an Alfa-Sud and I can't remember what won me over to the Fiat128SL but I do remember the great seats and surprisingly absorbing ride given that it handled brilliantly. Only 1300cc (but that's more than 3 times my previous ride) it performed well and cruised Launceston to Hobart quickly and enjoyably. I was now doing almost 50,000km a year and committed to trading vehicles every year.
Modifications
None needed. Great car-club vehicle with good handling and respectable performance. 1/4 mile time of 16.8 secs at the time was pretty respectable but the front wheel drive lost a bit through wheel spin.
