History
I bought the TR3a from Calder in 1980 when I was 16, put the chassis in the carpark of the second story unit I was living at in South Yarra and carried all the parts up to the spare room. I bough some tools and a manual a taught my self home to restore it (no YouTube or internet)
After 2 years I took the chassis and body panels to my girlfriends dads place at Burwood and he helped me with the paint and panel work, then I assembleded it all. I used to ride my push bike 30k round trip South Yarra to Burwood to work on it. I started it when I started my apprenticeship as a Chef and it took the full 4 years to complete. When it was finished my brother flew down from Townsville and we both drove it from Melbourne to Townsville with the roof down in winter to run it in. I worked in North Queensland for 3 years, it was my every day driver, then I drove it back down to Melbourne and sold it for something warmer.
