History
The VC Commodore was getting unreliable as bits of plastic melted and the pollution system soiled itself a lot. It stopped several times on my wife coming home at midnight from her shift as a nurse. It had to go. Gold Coast at night for a pretty girl alone on the road was not on. I had good experiences in the past buying second hand more upmarket cars that had been looked after. This Fairlane fitted the bill and it proved to be a lovely riding and reliable motor car. I could replace the head gasket in the garage easily and change belts and hoses in a Saturday morning. It was the family car for many years but my wife wished for something a bit smaller so we traded it for a Chrysler Neon.
