History
I was more into collecting Austin A40s but when I collected a very tired A40 utility, this little gem was offered to me for a few bucks. It was missing some bits from the motor but it was rust free and in good condition overall. I quickly had her running like a top and a polish quickly transformed the paint shiny. I drove her for almost a year but a nostalgic Austin owner just had to have her so he parted with his cash and I parted with the A55. It was such a sweet running little car. It hummed along at 55 mph without complaining and rode smooth as silk. Not a speed machine but a whole lot faster than my usual A40 Devon fare. I missed her when she went.
Modifications
Changed the Zenith for a couple of SUs which I had lying around and replaced the rusted muffler with a hot dog. Sounded good.
