History
I had a sedan as a club car when my cousin offered this ute. It had been in the family since new and it only had 30,000 miles though had been through a Gympie flood on three occasions. I completely went through the oily bits and quickly had her running sweetly. I built a new wooden body and my car restorer neighbour came over one day and gradually over a month cut all of the rust out and made her as good as new. I had her professionally resprayed in Alpine white and my wife sewed a new interior with a seat based on a narrowed FC Holden Wagon rear bench. I learnt new pinstriping skills. I drove her to work for 20 years and she became the work horse in building new gardens for a couple of houses, shifting houses and doing stuff for friends. A single "hot dog" muffler made it sound like an MG. I loved this car but needed to sell my "toys" when we moved to the big city with only two garages. Both my Austins went to a new home with several of their brothers and sisters.
Modifications
Colour, hot dog muffler, later all hydraulic brakes.
