History
Always wanted one of these since I was in high school. I finally bought one in my early twenties that was a real shit box...the one day I saw this car fly by me with a loud "whoosh" from it's turbo, at the back I see a for sale sign sticker with a phone number.
I called the number and purchased the car the next day.
And then begins the love affair...and the dramas, breakdown, and endless repairs.
Modifications
This car has had a engine transplant from a 5ME motor...single cam, 2.8L straight six (non turbo), to a 7MGTE...twin cam, 24 valve, 3.0L straight six, with a good sized turbo.
It was automatic when I bought it, but had to change to manual when the auto declined to hold the power of the motor any longer.
Future Mod Plans:
- Full strip down and rebuild
- Motor swap to a rebuilt 2JZGTE (aiming for 700hp, a bit ambitious...I know)
- Gearbox swap
- Brake upgrade
- Suspension upgrade
- Interior retrim
I should be finished before I'm 70...lol
