History
The Caprice was the most expensive, luxurious model in the Chevrolet full-size car range which also included the Biscayne, Bel-air, and Impala. Our car was made by General Motors Corporation in the second week of November 1970 at the GM Broening Highway Assembly Plant in the USA. It is powered by an 8-cylinder 454 Motor. It was purchased with an RHS conversion from Mister Cars at Mermaid Beach in QLD in 1985. It was driven to Tasmania and was used regularly as a daily drive from then through to 1994 when a collision took it off the road. It was stored undercover until May 2010 when a full restoration was commenced over a four year period. Since that time it has been driven in several rallies, most notably the annual South Eastern Car Rally In Tasmania. Lots of weekend driving and tours as well.
