History
I've owned this for about 28 years I've named him ROZBIF and have the plates to go with him. I bought it off a mate who had it given to him by the orignal owner, an old Greek gent who was the first owner. It would have been given to me by that old bloke if I hadn't gone to the loo and had my mate stand in for me while I was there! Ahhhhh! Nevertheless the mate lent it to me often whilst I was building up a fully optioned XB GT clone back then. That's over 30 years ago now. The Coupe was a pretty sad base model slant 6 auto then. Over the last 30 years I've collected nearly all the Regal 770 gear for it including the full metal coffin console and instrument cluster, charger steering wheel and V8 running gear. I'll go the modest custom route like my '63 Regal Safari (BBKYNG) as he's not a numbers matching car. I modified the 770 buckets to accept the chrome seat recliner mechanisms from a 1969 Mazda 1800, about 25 years ago and had all the seats done in a black cloth brocade material but the mods stopped there.I ended up with about 15 cars, a couple of bikes a retro van and boat and way too much to do building and renovating sheds and homes to house them and the family in. It's now time to get serious with him and I'm looking around for a master coach building mob to go to work on his body, whilst I build up some solid running gear. I'm absolutely gutted at the loss of Tony Valta's Recoat Smash Repairs at Baranduda Victoria, even though I'd never been there or spoken to him, I'd set my mind on his crew doing ROZBIF. I just read and article recently that the poor crew had a big mishap on site and one of them was seriously injured. I believe he's shut down now. I hope all will be ok for them all in the years to come. Cheers Mooks
