History
I bought the car in 1983. Alas it was from the generation of Zs that had sat on a dockside in Japan for months waiting to be sold. With that start in life and then a few years of British winters and my beautiful Z turned out to be a top quality cosmetic job hiding terminal rust. This became apparent when I replaced a front wing and, more particularly, a rear quarter panel. It failed its MOT when I had owned it for only about 18 months.
Still, I took my girlfriend up to the Lake District in it, before the rust surfaced, and thoroughly enjoyed the winding roads - including one interesting sideways excursion towards a dry-stone wall. My girlfriend loved the car and she borrowed it a few times. She cried when it was towed away, by which time we were married. That holiday in the Lake District was the start of our serious relationship, which is still going after 32 years. Alas, the car is not.
