So here I am refuelling my Uber car, my Camry daily drive that is, when I look over and there is this very clean looking, understated custom built BA XR6. I parked the Uber car and went straight over and sat in it. After a review of the price guide I dismissed any idea of ever owning it and went back to work. A few weeks later I gave them a call "just to find out if they still had it"! After several challenging years where I pretty much lost everything. My house my job etc. I was determined for something good to happen when I turned 50!
After that first drive I put down a deposit without really even knowing how I would come up with the funds. The guys at the garage who built it gave me 4 weeks. So I set about saving up the extra. Still smiling!
Modifications
Engine reconditioned, including heavy duty valve springs, upgraded injectors and high flow fuel system. Turbo ECU, turbo overhaul with new core and new electronic boost controller. Overhauled and strengthened 4 speed transmission and torque converter. Differential fully reconditioned and new true trac helical LSD centre. Full steering and suspension upgrade using lowered King springs and Monroe GT Sport shocks. DBA slotted T3 brake rotors with Bendix Ultimate pads and Penrite racing brake fluid. New Kings 18in after market rims with 245/40 street legal semi slick racing tyres. Interior upgrades including, new pod gauges holder wired in for Turbo boost and Oil pressure, customs seats, door trims and roof lining. New headlights, fog lights and repeaters. XR8 bonnet, boot lid spoiler delete, debadged with new semi-metallic paint throughout.
