History
Purchased in 1970 this vehicle's engine was 'extensively improved' after attending the opening of Adelaide International Raceway in 1972 with an unbelievable night of Drag Racing featuring the 'Trojan Horse' Mustang Funny car. Later that year A.I.R. held the first 'off the street' meeting and the Corolla took out the final in its bracket 'under a flag drop' owing to the timing light system failing as the day was about to conclude.
Having been 'drawn to the track' from then on I soon purchased another vehicle - a Toyota 700, which inherited the engine thereby putting the Corolla back into stock condition. The Corolla itself was written off in an incident at Torrens Island some time after but I had some good times in it during the early years....Mike.
