HOW LONG HAVE YOU OWNED THIS CAR AND WHAT CONDITION WAS IT IN WHEN YOU PURCHASED IT?
The car fell in my lap just after my first daughter was born so I decided to call the Mini after her “Allira” it has been a project I have been working on for a few years with 90 % of the car being built by myself in my garage with help from mates and family. The Mini wasn’t too bad with no rust anywhere on the shell but she was tried and due for a tidy up.
HOW LONG HAS IT TAKEN YOU TO GET YOUR CAR TO THIS LEVEL?
Worked started on this car the next day after I received it and has been a slow working progress with most of the work done at home in my garage.
HOW MUCH HAS THE CAR AND ALL ITS MODIFICATIONS COST YOU?
Didn’t keep track but not as much as you think as most of the work was done by myself or mates. Good thing about minis is everthing is cheap.
A lot of the parts were restored by myself its amazing with a little paint can do.
WHAT IS THE MOST SURPRISING THING ABOUT OWNING A MODIFIED CAR?
I love turning heads of both the young and the old forever getting people coming up to talk to me about it
WHAT SORT OF SET-BACKS AND DRAMA’S HAVE YOU HAD BUILDING THE CAR? -
I had a lot of issues with the first gearbox with was later stripped down buy a friend of mine and rebuilt. We found the new mini gears was not up to the job, after replacing with some N.O.S and good condition second hand gear the gearbox has been bullet proof.
