History
This unique handbuilt vehicle is a replica of a classic 1969 Ferrari Dino 246GT, fully supported by an Engineers 'Vehicle Modification Report'.
The solid fibreglass body is one of the last manufactured by DRB Enterprises, with a total of only 65 ever produced, and only a handful of those still surviving today, making this a very rare and unique vehicle.
An integrated steel monocoque space-frame helps strengthen the fibreglass shell to withstand crash-testing beyond 'Australian Design Regulation' requirements, making it safer than most equivalent vehicles on our roads, with a total vehicle mass of only 800kg for superior manoeuvrability.
Construction of this vehicle took 5 years of painstaking precision engineering and attention to detail, starting in 1999 and ready for first registration in 2002, while the last fine details were completed in late 2004.
The rear-mounted engine is a Nissan Exa 4 cylinder naturally aspirated OHC 1590CC, fully rebuilt as new with a customized SU carburettor, for maximum performance and fuel economy. With fully rebuilt 4 speed gearbox, brakes and sports suspension, all riding on 16 x 8 inch Simmons racing alloy wheels and low profile tyres. Fully customized wiring and electrical system with alarm and remote central locking. Featuring a hand carved solid Jarrah timber dash board as the centre piece for the stylish sporty interior, also fitted out with comfortable bucket seats, an 'Alpine' sound system, and tinted windows.
Finished in premium 2-Pack polyurethane "Red Hot" paint to give a tough and stunning protective skin to compliment the beautiful curves and Italian styling.
