History
I am the 3rd owner of the vehicle. This vehicle was initially purchased by a dentist upon his retirement of which he drive until his death. His wife would not part with it and kept it in her garage for some years. Her neighbour, a panel shop owner, bought the vehicle from her after much deliberation on her part. I purchased the from him in 2002, only a couple of years after he bought it. The only mod he carried out was an ad hoc twin exhaust system as he too many cars and simply did not have the time to do the restoration.
During the time the dentist owned the car he had an accident and damaged the left hand rear quarter panel. This must have occurred much later in the cars life as the whole vehicle was painted during the repair. This may have happened sometime during 1980âs. The repair job was not of a high standard in that generous amounts of body filler was used. The chrome moulding pegs were cut off and reattached using the process of drilling holes through the moulding and paneling fixed with pop rivets! The car is all one colour and paint is still O.K.
I am looking forward to the time when I get to strip it and repaint. Interior and mechanicals are mostly original. I have installed factory reconditioned power steering and air conditioning to the car. I have a set of factory electric windows I intend to fit that I bought with the P/steering and A/C stripped out of a wrecked HG Brougham. I have also fitted a electric tailgate window.
The car is reasonably clean as you can see from the photos. I fitted the of road wheels and as at the time I was doing a lot camping and off road driving. It is factory fitted with a GTS dashboard, LSD banjo differential and steering wheel lock. I have the original rims and hubcaps.
Modifications
The exhaust was replaced with a set of pacemaker headers, (now the factory auto choke does not work) quality twin system with a stainless steel Monaro rear muffler utilising the factory exhaust mounts.
A JVC Chameleon head unit, Cadence amp and JVC 7" split and 6x9âs were fitted back in 2003.
