Last registered in Texas in 1967 and imported into Australia in 1990 as a complete, all original numbers matching car; engine, transmission and frame.
As ordered by the Federal government, Oldsmobile ceased auto production from 1942 (February 3,1942) until 1945 (October 15, 1945) in order to manufacture material during World War II;
• War in Europe ended on 8 May 1945;
• 1st atomic bomb was dropped on 6 August 1945;
• Japan surrendered on 14 August 1945;
• Post WW2 Oldsmobile production commenced on 15 October 1945; and
• A United Auto Worker's (UAW) strike prevented Oldsmobile production from 21st November 1945 to 1st April 1946
This car is serial #713 is one of only 3,498 units produced between 15th October 1945 and 21st November 1945. Only 140 station wagons were built out of a total of 1946 model year production of 119,388 units. 30,929 Dynamic Cruisers (Model 76) were produced in 1946. 23,405 were produced at Lansing Michigan.
