History
There are two cars I always wanted to own an E type Jag and a an MGB. I bought the B in1999 and the car was driven as is until rust surfaced. Car was subject to a bare metal respray and new top. Recently the car was starting to look a bit tatty so I have just had it resprayed (bare metal again to most parts as prior respray prep was not up to spec) the car is now in the trimmers have a new complete interior fitted and a new cloth rag top.
You might be thinking why spend so much on a MG, well 2 reasons really I love the car and two my 17 year old son wants it when I can no longer cope with it. He grew up in that car and he loves it too.
Modifications
Having an artificial leg means having to drive an Auto vehicle, so I fitted an auto transmission and pedal box out of a 1970 B. To make up for the loss of drivability I fitted a twin 1 3/4 inch SU system, extractors and a 2" exhaust and fast road camshaft.
I have recently dumped the SU’s for a 45mm Delorto sidedraft carby.
The rear end has had ordinary gas shocks fitted in place of the lever shocks.
The front has slotted and drilled rotors and greenstuff brake pads which provide outstanding stopping power. I am considering fitting a Moss telescopic front end kit soon with adjustable gas dampers and lowering the car about an 1 1/2 inches. Rubber bumper models sit way to high.
