History
Built in September 2010 at the Pomigliano d’Arco plant in Italy it was destined for Australia. Sold by a local Victorian Alfa Romeo dealer in January 2011 and subsequently purchased for my garage late in 2013.
The Giorgetto Giugiaro designed sedan is one of the most beautiful 4 door sedans to grace the road. In my opinion, in its Ti form it is just irresistible. This model has one of the latest 1742 cc turbo charged 4 cylinder petrol engine which replaced the 2.2L JTS normally aspirated engine. Being lighter, smaller, more economical and less polluting it was faster than the previous model.
The 159 model had a production run from 2005 to 2011. While misaligned at times, it is still a great car when it comes to performance, handling and character. Plus with the Alfa Romeo badge, that’s a lot of history just there alone. Admittedly, it could have a more noticeable exhaust note, but that aside, a really beautiful automobile (That’s not a car.......).
