Memories
Purchased new from Giles Bros Temora NSW
in May 1962. (A sedan was purchased at the same time and is still within the wider family.)
It was a 21st present for Bob Ingram (present owners father) to be used on the family farm at Mirrool. It was used extensively on the farm. Including fox hunting, taking eggs & wool to town etc.
It was kept in good working order and was looked after body-wise although the farm was very rocky.
Bob and his wife Doreen travelled to Canberra and Cooma on their honeymoon in 1968. Hence the 2 stickers on the driver side quarter window.
The current owner (Max) came home from hospital as a newborn in it.
Last registered in 1985, it was put into a shed and collected dust!!
Plans were started to restore it in 2003. It was completely stripped of all parts with about 20 litres of dirt and dust being removed.
The project was completed in about January 2014. Rust, body work, drivetrain and steering completed by the current owner. Engine reconditioned by the original owner and paint work done by Craig Keys, Wagga.
The timber in the rear is Oregon which came from a demolished grain shed from Beckom, NSW. Being the longest grain-shed of it’s time in NSW.
The ute was also seen on Classic Resto’s Kiwanis Geelong all Ford Day 2014.
