History
"The Red Baron", passed down to me by my brother. We painted her Candy Apple Red under a carport using mums vacuum cleaner! The old girl (the FJ not mum) really taught me how to drive; no syncro in 1st, vacuum wipers, an old rag to demist the windscreen.
She was a "hottie", very low, 6"rims with Dunlop Aquajets! the same tyres that came standard on all the high-performance cars in those days (early 70's). Twin barrel carby, extractors, Lukey muffler and an Impala straight line gear-shift! could beat the syncro if too hasty or even rip the linkages off altogether!
Sadly in a very stupid "photo shoot" got too carried away going around a corner and wrote the car off, my penance was to walk home bare foot a couple of klms.
45years later I'm now working on a 1955 FJ, it will be red (not the Baron II) very much modified, I'm a lot wiser, can't wait to ride in a true classic once more.
Modifications
Lowered, wide wheels, anti-sway bars, dual-barrel carby, extractors, floor shift, HT grill.
