History
This was my Brothers Pride and Joy, and unfortunately when he passed away in 2004 the car sat idle at his best mates place. So a few years later we picked up the car minus the engine, which was still in his bedroom on an engine stand. The original plan was to get the motor finished, pop it in and give the body a little T.L.C but that soon changed and what followed was a full restoration. It wasn't until half way into the rebuild it was pointed out that the build numbers indicated it was a genuine SLR, which was a suprise as we always thought it was a mock up. The rebuild was a little difficult at times as this project had nothing to do with original specs. more importantly getting it back to the way my brother loved it. So old pics came in handy.Hence the LH and LX paint styling and round headlights. It took just over two and a half years and a couple of tears..It has been an absolute honour restoring this and having it drive my sister to her wedding was just perfect. I hope we have done him proud. In memory of you Mark!!
