So I finally did it, and bought my first Harley Davidson!
The beautiful 2022 Street Glide ST, in Vivid Black (I detest the time it takes to polish the chrome on the Royal Star!)
With the 117 Milwaukee Eight, it's got so much more power than I expected, and eats corners for breakfast��
My requirements in a new ride were that it had to be equal to, or better than the Royal Star Tour Deluxe - and it trumps that old girl in every way.
Far superior cornering lean angle, ridiculous power on tap at any revs in any gear, and marginally larger saddlebags (my drone pelican case actually fits in these, when it wouldn't in the RSTD)
In possibly the nicest change, riding in winter is a treat with an air cooled.engine keeping my legs warm, and that Batwing fairing keeps the harshest of cold highway breezes out of my face and off my hands.
The navigation & sound system rocks, with tunes streamed from Spotify crystal clear even at highway speeds.
My only regret is that I didn't see the light earlier, love this bike.
The trusty Royal Star now resides forlornly in the garage on a trickle charge - I WILL ride her again come summer....
Modifications
Leather saddlebag covers, Fork mounted fangs (wind deflectors), Saddlemen seat for comfort, and the obligatory cup holder.
