Modifications
Drive Line : Pinto block on standard bore. Crank is a Pinto 6 bolt crank with a flywheel dowel. Crank has been machine, lightened, balanced and hardened. Datsun L20 long light weight rods with new rod bolts and Mahle dome top high compression pistons. New welch plugs, oil pump fitted and painted in 2K. Head is a YB Cosworth which was mildly ported, new valves, springs collets, retainers, hydraulic buckets and new cams for a N/A application. Polished cam cover with billet filler cap. PWR radiator with thermo controlled by the ECU. Custom made full stainless exhaust that was hand made to suit the car. Quad EFI Hardware throttle bodies with 440cc injectors. Full wireless engine bay. Lightened flywheel with HD clutch. Alloy bell housing and a steel case Celica gearbox. One piece tail shaft connected to a Shortened Cortina diff with 3.9:1 diff gears and an LSD.
Body : Fully stripped down to bare metal. All unnecessary holes were filled and flattened. Etched primed, primed, rubbed, primed, rubbed and then base coat white was applied. Blue pearl overlay and then 5 coats of clear. It was then wet rubbed and polished. All of the underside and inside floor pan was painted with POR 15 underbody paint. Nose cone was prepared in the same way. The engine bay had full seam welding done and then smoothed over.
Suspension : Strengthened cross-member, new lower control arm and steering rack fitted. Front 2ltr struts were converted over to coil over with Koni shocks and Eibach springs. All parts of the suspension was painted in special effects paint called Black Chrome and then clear coated. Suspension is about 3 ââ¬â 3.5 inches lower than standard height. Rear leaves have inverted eyes and an extra leaf added to get the height right and also has Koni shocks. Upper control arms were also fitted. All the bushes were replaced with Nolathane parts. Fuel tank had all the dents removed and then painted in the Black Chrome paint and then fitted with new Stainless straps.
Wheels tyres and Brakes : 18 inch Inevo rims with Falcon rubber 215/35/18. Front and rear both tuck tyre without scrub. All the brakes have been made to bolt on and off using parts that are readily available in Australia using RS Escort motorsport parts from UK. Front discs are a VT Commodore rotor that bolts to an Escort Cosworth alloy hat and then to a standard MK2 escort hub and bearing assembly. Callipers are a Sumatomo that bolts to a RS logoed bracket and then bolts to a standard stub axle assembly. The rears are much the same, all bolt on, no welding was done. It is still a cable handbrake to the standard lever.
Interior : Original Sheel seats from an Escort Cosworth Lux from the UK. The rear trims were damaged, so I made inserts for there, and then had to carry the theme through to the parcel shelf. All new seatbelts were also fitted. The whole car was rewired front to back as well as the Wolf ECU fitted to run the engine. White dials were fitted to the RS2000 dash and a new head unit were the ashtray used to be.
