my uncle originaly bought this magnum to strip out for parts for his wb ute ,i have always been into holdens my first car a eh holden and living in bathurst i loved the v8s and my father worked for a fuel company and he got vip passes to the holden tent every year so i meet peter brock numerous times and all his co drivers so i loved HDT and anything holden ,so when i seen my uncle had purchased a car to strip out i was curious and went and had a look and i was in shock !!! it was a HDT magunum in original condition the look on my face said it all i was instantly yelling that he could not wreck it out to fix a stock ute ,so after 8 years of convincing him of not wrecking it and me pestering him to buy it 20 times a year he rang me up and asked if i wanted it he had purchased a 87 corvette stingray and wanted the garage for it instead of the magnum i asked how much and he said if ican get it out of there before the vet arrived i could have it !!!!!!!!! i nearly fell over i didnt have much money at the time even for the tow which was 240 to my house so i ran down the road and sold my welder for 250 and had a tow truck at my nans place in half an hour to pick it up ,and after 7 years of getting all original parts i fully restored it back to when she came out of the HDT floor ,i finished it 7 years ago and she has only done 56ks since rebuild hopefully this year i will drive her as a sunday car and get her to some shows
