History
This was a project my Dad bought me 15 years ago, we drove out bush to buy it from an old man where it had sat for 10+ years rusting away to nothing. It then sat in our garage for another 10 years, until I finally had the funds to help Dad fix it up. We had it on the road just in time for the Monaro Nationals and took out a 3rd prize trophy in the Factory Modified Category.
The proudest day of my life was having my Dad drive me to my wedding in the gorgeous chariot to marry the other love of my life.
It's a stock standard HT, nothing fancy, not even a perfect body, but to me she is everything!
Modifications
Originally the car was Oasis Green, 186, Column Shift Manual. But I always loved the Monza Blue, and at the time we got the car the 186 was considered a piece of rubbish which we threw out and replaced with a 253 from a HQ ute (needless to say, I now regret that move and wish I'd kept it's original engine for it's rarity these days!). We also changed the manual gear box for a trimatic auto...much easier for me to manage. Other than those 3 things, its perfectly the same...I threw on some dirty old GTS guards I found at a swap meet years ago too. It's definitely no GTS, but I like the guards!
