History
Lotus Elise production started in the second half of 1996 and Lotus were originally expected to only build 2000 cars. However, the Elise became a worldwide sensation and Lotus was inundated with 1300 initial orders in May 1996 after its world car show debut and before production had commenced.
This car is the #615th Lotus Elise built in the world completed on 10th February 1997.
This Elise was one of the first two Australian cars air freighted to Australia and delivered to their new owners and is officially the first Australian delivered Lotus Elise on 6th March 1997 to its new owner.
The Elise was recently found in March 2017 (20 years after being built) inside a garage located in Melbourne that was being stored by the father of the second owner for the past +10 years.
The car is a very low mileage example (50,000Km) and is original stock standard and could be described to be on Excellent to Very good overall original rare unmodified condition.
