History
Originally purchased in bits and brought home in a 6 x 4 trailer the Roadster was built by myself and my brother and was completed in 1988. It was debuted at the Melbourne Hot Rod Show where it was awarded Top Hot Rod overall and has received many awards over the years. It is still the most treasured of the cars in our current Willys collection.
Modifications
The Roadster has a modified original chassis with 4 bar rear suspension and an 8" Ford differential. The front end is HR Holden with P76 disc brakes and rack and pinion steering with a Sigma steering column. The engine is a mildly modified Ford 302 ci V8 with a C4 automatic transmission.
There are many body modifications, some discrete, that cannot be noticed till the Roadster is parked beside an original vehicle. The wheels are custom made Classic Champs 14" x 7" on the rear and 14" x 5" on the front.
