History
Unfortunately, I do not have a picture of my first car, a black EJ Holden Premier sedan. The picture I uploaded is someone else's pride and joy for demonstration only.
I received the car from my father as a 16th birthday present. It was unmarked and unregistered. Needed minor mechanical work. This was something that my father and I would complete in time for me to gain my license and drive as my first car.
We completed the repairs quickly and was going to pit the car for registration, then, my father, always looking for a quick dollar, got talking to another man who came and viewed the car and bought it on the spot.
On my return home that evening, I was informed that the car that had been purchased for a mere $17.00 from the abandoned car lot at Tas Police, had been sold for $500.00. I was lucky enough to gain half the sale price.
That week, I attended the abandoned police lot and purchased my second car, a 1967 HR sedan that was a rough as you could get it, full of dents, but it drove and was still registered. This one lasted four days when I was T boned by another car.
Good luck to all entries as I'm sure they will have stories to tell.
