History
This is the well-known and appreciated Mk1 VW Golf creation of VW legend Ron Croft (C&S Automotive Sydney NSW). Endlessly modified and multi-award winning (including a triple crown for the VW Nationals in 1988, 1989, 1990). I lived in the same street in Sydney as Ron in 1992 and watched in awe as this bright yellow thing burbled its way around the place. I moved to QLD and was totally amazed to recognise this same car for sale some 25 years later, advertised in VW Magazine Australia in mid-2017. I contacted Ron, bought it over the phone, flew to Sydney and drive it straight back to QLD. We've kept the car as-is (apart from matching the NSW registration "RON 386" to honour the history of this amazing machine). We drive it most weeks and had fun last year when we turned-up at a VW event in Brisbane and at the last minute entered the car for judging - and ended-up winning the "Best Water-Cooled up to 2004" category (and I hadn't even washed the car!).
