History
I had been driving a All Wheel Drive Wombat Tarago 91 and we needed to replace it due to the 300,000ks on it.
In 2008 I found this car newly added to carsales, No photos just a description of a vehicle due to arrive at a yard.
It was not the car i was supposed to be looking for but all the same I made the phone call to the dealership.
I asked a few questions about it, Injected Gas, Black Duco, Leather interior, Roof mount Entertainment.
The clincher for me was when he said it had black Leather interior, I actually made him go out to the car to check.
Anyone that knows G220 s knows that standard interior is Black/Red, I maintain that unless it is Burgundy it is just a bit LOUD
It had been ordered with black leather....... So into the car went the family...... I had to have a look.
My lovely wife knew as soon as I saw it I was going home with a Fairlane.
Well the paperwork was done and I had to wait till monday for the finance to be completed.
Monday came and I went to collect the car, to my horror there was a huge dint in the bonnet. A Ladder being used to replace the Workshop lights had fell on it.... Well the Dealership came to the party and supplied a stock bonnet in the same color that arvo, but I knew.
So the next year for my birthday my family got a XR8 Bonnet in steel (Gotta love that kind of present) still in the box.
Had a few issues with the Injected gas but finally found a service agent that did not suck.
The one thing that I felt it was missing at this point was the noise, the V8 noise, the whole reason you get a V8.
This was sorted by a custom Exhaust shop that sold me on it when he pulled up in his own 5.4L Ute..... What a note.
Once this was done it was time for the Tunes, I went to Riverside Customs, why, he listened to what I wanted. It had to look Stock cause I did not want it getting broken into just for the stereo. (It happened when I was about 20) The Guys there did an awesome job and I will be back.
I got the Old school Doof that I missed from years back, First CD in Bass down Low...... hehehe.
I Love driving this Car and often find myself driving 750Ks instead of 300.....

Air Bag Suspension installed by Pedders to get its fat a** off the ground,

Stealth Stereo system.
