History
One of a small number of GTO's imported into Australia new, and one of 125 Tempest/Le Mans/GTO's sent direct to export from the factories in America (out of a total build of around 300,000 for the 68 model year). I have owned the car for around 12 years, and have tried to keep it as a "day 2" car, eg. only minor modifications from standard, really along the lines of a mid-late 70's style street car. Obviously, this gets harder as time passes, although the internet has been a massive help with parts and advice.
Modifications
Non-standard paint (similar colour), Edelbrock alloy heads and intake manifold, Holley Sniper efi, Ram Air exhaust manifolds, roller rockers, mild cam, MSD distributor, Aussie Desert Cooler radiator. Shift kitted gearbox. 9 inch diff. Alpine stereo, Grant GT steering wheel. American Racing 15" wheels, lowered suspension.
