History
Passed up the chance to pick this up privately and ended up paying a fair bit more at full retail at Antique Motorcycles in Cheltenham, where it turned up a month or so later. In the end it just called out to me and I had to have it - a return to the string of 2 strokes singles, twins and triples that I started out on all those years ago.
Fantastically original except for the bars and rear indicators, it even has the little hand pump that clips to the frame in case you were ever interested in pumping up your tyres with it - nearly all of these would have been lost after more than 40 years. Goes very well, the extra I paid at least got me a good tune and a bit of a clean up.
It looks great parked along side the Z1000, and I am now hatching a plan to put both of them on the back of the Bedford and take the whole collection out on trips all at once (so if anyone knows anything about mounting systems for carrying bikes on flat beds, let me know!)
