History
I recently bought this 1959 Herald saloon from Sorrel in Tasmania. I would like to locate a bit of history on this herald but unfortunately it is missing its comm plate so its a bit difficult. It lived in Tasmania and was found in a shed where it sat for 20 years and before that in another shed for 20 years until I bought it. It was damage on the LHS early in its life and was poorly repaired, damage to front outrigger and suspension. I suspect this is why it only has 49K on the speedo. It is currently stripped down with the chassis being repaired properly before I rebuild it to original specs.
Its body no is 6281KA AMI number delivered in 1959
Chassis no is 29 N 80614 Mk 1 Chassis
Engine no KA6389 early 948 single carb. KA denotes 1959
Gearbox no.GA36717 1200 saloon no. ?????
Diff No. GA36035 1200 saloon ratio 411.1 ????
Current colour is Red/White but I Have found light green in a previous coat
If this car ring a bell with any one out there I would love to hear from you.
Thank you
