History
This was apart of the Robin Camens collection that was recently sold through Collectable Classics in South Australia.
It is dressed up as a Yellow Cab Co. taxi which includes a fare meter and sign. We can’t 100% confirm if it was a taxi in it’s working life, but being a Business model it would’ve possibly been a hire car, taxi or ex-Government fleet hack.
It’s an Adelaide built body and final assembly took place in Brisbane. It was originally painted black with a red interior but now has a two tone tan/cream interior from a Holden Special.
The old 132 Grey motor needs a bit of work which will be part of the fun and learning experience. So far we’ve replaced the fanbelt and will be renewing the carby this weekend. I have a water pump and flange and manifold gasket on order.
Oh, and anyone wishing to travel in it, please note, flag fall is 1’6 and 1’3 per mile or 15c flag fall and 11c per mile in the new money.
