History
I found this Fiat on the side of the road opposite The Scarborough Hotel North of Wollongong in 1994. It was sitting in long grass under a torn tarp with a hand drawn âFor Saleâ sign on it. I bought it for $300 & trailered it home for use as a ’parts’ car for another I had just purchased also.
Being such an original vehicle complete with the dealer books (!) once I started to strip it down I had second thoughts and decided to restore this one. It was a 1 1/2 year project, the body all went back to bare metal and was completed with meticulous attention to detail, including painting with an original Fiat colour. A lot of the new parts were sourced directly from Italy (not much on the internet then), together with a lot of NOS parts I was lucky enough to source in Sydney via a member of the Fiat Club NSW at the time. A passionate labour of love and an absolute hoot to drive :) I’ll never sell it...
