History
Ok so this little 'Baby Blue Car' or BBC was and is my first car that I bought with some aide of the folks at the tender age of 16. Since then I've aged to the grand total of 28 and my best mate BBC has been with me this entire time as my mode of transport. A whopping 12 YEARS!!! We do everything together, drive to work, the beach, have meals together (drive thru). She's been there through it all.
No AC. No power windows. No central locking. We're old school. In fact this was the car I drove to school, ripping on the hand brake for sideways movement in the gravel parking lot, it was pretty tough.
She loves the open road, not hills so much, but with a can do attitude of 'I think I can, I think I can' which is like a rendition of the little engine that could she gets to the top. Sir Edmund Hillary eat your heart out!
Always up for a challenge she'll cart whatever I throw at her - loaded up with the boys, stocked esky in the large boot and surf board on top - loves it!
It was a bit touch and go a while back, the latest service said with her age and a few health issues we didn't have long left together. It brought a tear to my eye. It's been 7 months since the diagnosis and we are just taking each day as it comes. Recently her radiator started giving grief and still causes on going issues with coolant leakage. The paints fading from her body and there are a few more groans when she moves then at the start of our relationship.
We've had a good run together, shared some of the best memories and hopefully we can get to 300,000 together before the wheels fall off. Until then we will keep soldiering on.
