I felt guilty about racing a Cortina GT in National/International races from my home town of Bourke in outback NSW. Brainwave! Sell the GT and purchase a sports car! Worked until I saw an advert for a International sports car race at Surfers Paradise "Rothmans 12 Hour Race for Sports Cars" promoted by legendary entrepreneur Keith Williams. After all I still had my CAMS lic. They even gave me a handsome starting money! The race is another story for another time, but we finished in the prize money! So here was a little bloke from Bourke mixed in with cars and drivers that competed at Le Mans! Sutcliffe, Piper,Attwood, even a young bloke by the name of Jackie Stewart!! Cars like Ford GT40, Ferrari P$'s, Ferrari LM250 Monaco Olds, Alfa Romeo TZ2, Lola, Elfin, AC Cobra, Austin Healey 3000 and even Sprites! Daimler SP250 Jaguar E Type and others and a variety of Porshe.
