Our VW Kombi Camper Van was purchased new in UK by my father-in-law in 1976. (we have the original receipt & paper-work). My wife was a young girl at the time; she along with her older sisters, mum & dad traveled around Europe for approx 1 year and this van was their home. It was shipped to Australia in 1977 and has remained in the family ever since. For a few years it was the family car but became a weekender and holiday car. My wife and I and our children have had a few camping holidays over the years too and enjoyed driving her very much. Her name is Bessie and is a beloved part of our family. The interior is totally original including cooker, tilting roof and sleeping quarters. She had a new paint job in the mid-90s but retained the original colour.
