I set this Mini up not as a ’replica’ of the original BMC Works Competitions Department Monte Carlo Rally winning 33EJB, but as an overall tribute to all of the early BMC rally cars. It was my intention to build an exact replica of 33 EJB. After considerable research and assistance from Bill Price, Gerald Wiffen and Peter Bartram, all ex-BMC Competitions Department members, and having spent five years obtaining the correct fittings for the car, all was lost in a bushfire in January 2013.
