History
Purchased at Lightning Ridge 1983 [should have left it there] for $500.
The poor little fella had been used for pig shooting & had ended up in a local creek front first. When we found the jeep it was partially buried in a mullock heap [& very close to an open mine] in the centre of Lightning Ridge [we re-visited the Ridge in 2007 & the hole & mullock were still in the middle of the town].
Started major restoration in 1983 after bashing the pistons out with a block of rosewood & an axe. Completed in 1985.
Repainted in 1990 for Centenary of the AWM Canberra [1991] and also for the 50th Anniversary of the Jeep at Dubbo NSW.
Restored again in 2011 of all painted surfaces, rust [under fuel tank], removal of sticky & mud wasp nests, [this jeep is in an enclosed garage] & new canopy canvas.
