History
Original vehicle bought in 1987 from Essendon Mazda Dealer for $15,000 in SE version . The original engine 2.6lt Astron II had overheating issues during Summer months and at 125000Km was replaced by a Genuine Mitsubishi Engine 2.6lt Astron II from REPCO Campbellfield > The Mitsubishi certificate papers still exist in my possession proving the Engine is the last engines built at the time when Mitsubishi was shutting operations in Australia 2008.
Currently the vehicle has travelled a total pf 187000km only.
It is on it's 3rd set of Bridgestone Tyres 195/60 R14 with the original alloys as fitted from the factory.
It has all the Luxury pack as supplied to SE with Power windows ,Air conditioning ,Power steering , Cruise control (after market supplied/fitted by dealer to original 1st owner).
Currently I am looking to find the plastic trim above driver's side door as the original has cracked removed a few times to spray some 3M contact for the roof liner.Hard to find for the age of the vehicle so I am looking for anyone that has a burgandy colour interior spares from a similar vehicle .I plan to remove the intake manifold and replace it or repair on the underside as it has a slow waterjacket drip. Apart from this the engine runs well and the original airconditioning gas is still working in the compressor. I have top it up using the original series gas bought from USA source and now looking to have it topped up again myself. During summer it doesn't cool as great as modern cars but it is better than no aircon. I plan to keep this car as I truly appreciate the design aspect it introduced into Australia .
I am the second owner and have had it for 36 of its 38year life.
Modifications
A front chrome bar was fitted by original onwner when I purchased the vehicle in 1987.
Tow bar fitted .
