History
Having owned a 1963 Jaguar Mark II during my misspent youth, which I managed to win back in a poker game, I knew I would always have a Jaguar in my garage at one time or another. Getting on with the business of living and driving many commercial vehicles for work, the yearning for my last Jaguar began. After many months of looking I finally found it in Adelaide, somewhat neglected and in need of some care. Even before I drove it, I knew this was the one I would keep for a long time. After arranging transport for it to Qld, I flew back home and eagerly awaited its arrival.
On closer inspection, it really didn’t need much at all, just a really good clean and with time, the seats were reupholstered and more walnut added to the door interiors and some chrome surrounds. It was amazing how those little touches made all the difference and I’m still as much in love with it as the day I bought it. I’ve owned my XKR now for nearly 12 years and the thrill of driving it has not changed. That Jaguar growl when you put your foot down still gets me every time.
