History
The vehicle was built in 1975/6 by Dave Dungey and Chris Ritches as one of the first "replica" D types constructed. It was raced by Dave under a Group A second category log book from 1976 until 1982. The vehicle had several changes of ownership and whilst owned by Rob Tweedie, was issued with a group Q historic log book in 1994. The vehicle underwent a major restoration during the period 2005 to 2010 and was "engineered" and road registered in 2010.
Modifications
The vehicle was built as a "mechanically faithful replica of a D type and although restored, still retains the same shape and finish as its original construction. During the registration period it was fitted with a number of modifications required for registration including a passenger foot well and lap belt, the headlights raised to the minimum height requirement and a quietened and protected external exhaust system.
