History
Genuine one owner. Picked up 3 days before XCs were released. Original colour - an XC colour - but was originally in GS livery.
1981 - Stolen - Found 2 weeks later in a wrecking yard, partially dismantled in the same shed as a HQ Monaro that had been stolen the same night. All numbers had been removed & ground off.
Insurance wrote the car off & I bought the wreck back. Picked up by police a couple of weeks later due to some missing parts & was sent for a machinery inspection where they gave me 6 months to get numbers or basically throw the car away. Still had the original purchase papers which enabled Ford to supply a copy of the original compliance plates & re-stamp the original engine & body numbers but I was stuck with a new rego number. Some years later black & white plates became available as personalised plates. I purchased the original rego number & changed the rego date so that all numbers & dates are back to original.
The car became a rust bucket (launching boats off beaches did not help) & was repainted in 1992. The interior apart from the carpets, door rubbers & face of the drivers seat are all original & in good condition.
I still have all the original purchase papers, log books that detail everything that has been done to it including every last drop of fuel that has gone into it & where it was purchased.
I sill have all the parts that have come off it including wheels (the spare tyre is the original Dunlop Aquajet) & the original carburettor & air cleaner.
The car still goes like a rocket & have no intention of ever parting with it.
