History
Purchased second hand by my sister in January 1971, then bought from her in 1978 when she upgraded to a new Leyland Clubman. It was our family car from 1980 to 1984 when the imminent birth of our second child needed a larger car. The Mini was my daily driver until mechanical issues put it off the road in 2000. It then sat until it underwent a full mechanical restoration and was registered as a Special Interest vehicle in Tasmania in November 2018. Total mileage to date around 270,000 miles.
Modifications
In the early 1980's the original seats were replaced with Recaro seats and wheels changed to Aunger "Jelly Bean" mags. In the mid 1980’s I was rear ended by a pointy nose Torana at a stop light, and the replacement boot lid fitted was the later Australian number plate style.
